KEITH BRAMALL TILING, PAINTING & DECORATING

rubi-speed-n-tile-cutter.jpg

I have several tile cutters that I use depending on the job I am doing. This one is a Rubi Speed-72 magnet tile cutter,  and it enables me to cut much larger tiles (up to 720mm or 28"). It will cut both ceramic or the much tougher porcelain tiles - these are very hard and not all tile cutters are up to the job. Accurate and reliable, I love it!

Another tool I have available is the "Genesis" self-levelling system. This is a great help when using larger wall and floor tiles. It holds them in place until set, and it enables me to get consistent grout lines for a truly professional finish. This system eliminates the risk of tiles slipping and not setting properly and thus leaving a "lip". Result? One happy customer....

CLADDING - AN ALTERNATIVE TO TILES.

Almost finished this project - just some beading and some sealant to add, and the radiator to paint. Bathroom ceiling lowered, new ceiling panels and spot-lights installed, cladding on the walls, toilet boxed in and new flooring put down. This cladding was sourced from Rotherham Plastics; it is insulated, and guaranteed not to support mould growth, which was a real problem in this old house.
Advances in adhesives mean that this cladding can be stuck over old tiles - no need to remove them. And it makes the room much warmer too.
